Buyer Credit Facility
The export buyer credit facility is designated exclusively for financing the procurement of Polish capital goods and investment services. Within this framework, the direct borrower is the importer who has executed an export agreement with a Polish corporate entity.
The buyer credit facility may be extended subject to the satisfaction of the following criteria:
- The export operations possess a distinct investment character;
- The subject of the export originates from the Republic of Poland.
The primary collateral securing the credit facility is credit insurance provided by the Export Credit Insurance Corporation (KUKE S.A.).
By leveraging this financial instrument, you will enhance the competitiveness of your commercial proposal, enabling your enterprise to compete more effectively in international tenders against foreign exporters who take advantage of equivalent state-backed support mechanisms, such as export policies issued by alternative Export Credit Agencies (ECAs). Furthermore, this facility substantially mitigates contractual risk within jurisdictions characterised by elevated risk profiles.
Application Path
- The importer or the exporter submits a formal inquiry to Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) regarding the feasibility of financing the contemplated contract.
- BGK conducts a rigorous analysis of the submitted documentation and formulates a bespoke financing structure tailored to the transaction.
- Subject to the project, the participating counterparties and the verified documentation proving entirely satisfactory to both BGK and KUKE, a preliminary financing proposal is formally extended to the borrower or foreign buyer.
- Upon formal acceptance of the preliminary proposal, BGK and KUKE initiate their respective internal underwriting and governance processes to secure the necessary corporate approvals for the execution of the financing and insurance contracts. At this juncture, supplementary inquiries may be initiated and further documentation may be required.
